Freedom of Choice Act

“FREEDOM OF CHOICE ACT”...Please, Act!

The “Freedom of Choice Act” (FOCA) creates a right to abortion which the government
could not limit and brings about a national abortion policy far worse than the United States Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade decision. This legislation would make abortion an entitlement which the government must fund and promote. The Office for Pro-Life Activities of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops observes:

If abortion advocates and their allies in Congress have their way, the “right” to
abortion will actually expand for the first time making abortion a federal entitlement
that the government must fund and promote. Passing the “Freedom of Choice Act”
would achieve these pro-abortion goals in one extreme piece of federal legislation, though this same “FOCA agenda” could be pursued in a series of smaller steps. Indeed, 63 proabortion groups have publicly submitted a 55-page blueprint for their agenda to the incoming Administration. Passing FOCA is priority of theirs to promote abortion.

The USCCB’s Pro-Life Office further says:
A vote for FOCA is a vote against modest, reasonable, widely supported laws
that promote and protect women’s health, ensure informed consent, protect minors and
ensure parental involvement, safeguard rights of conscience, and respect the desire of
most citizens not to pay for abortions with their tax dollars. It is the most radical and
extreme abortion legislation ever considered in the United States.
