Annual Catholic Appeal: Announcement Weekend

The “Annual Catholic Appeal” of the Archdiocese of Chicago is one more way that we can make a contribution to that effort and a wonderful way to acknowledge all of the ways in which God has blessed us.

This weekend, January 19-20, is the Announcement Weekend” for the “Annual Catholic Appeal” in parishes throughout the Archdiocese of Chicago. Hopefully, the material you find in the pews of our Church and the insights offered will encourage you to be generous in your support of the “Annual Catholic Appeal”

Next week, January 26-27, the pastor of our Archdiocesan Church, Cardinal George, will speak for himself. He has recorded a homily for Commitment Sunday” and asked that it be shared with Catholics throughout the Archdiocese of Chicago.

Many of you will have already completed the pledge forms which you received in an earlier mailing from the Archdiocese; but those of us who haven’t will be given an opportunity to make a pledge to the “Annual Catholic Appeal” after the Cardinal’s homily.

The following week, February 2-3, will be “Follow-Up Sunday.” This will be a second opportunity to make a pledge. It encourages the participation in the “Annual Catholic Appeal” of those who postponed making a pledge when the letter from the Archdiocese of Chicago arrived or who weren’t prepared to make their pledge on “Commitment Sunday.”
